In my never ending quest to find more ways to cause myself pain, I found this workout. It’s been sitting in my bookmarks for months. Since I’ve been spending my workout time doing Zumba and having a love/hate relationship with running, I wasn’t in the mood to try anything else.
But I’m getting bored with Zumba, so…
I finally tried The 100 workout last night…and my body was screaming! Somewhere in that list (I’m thinking it was at the 50 crunches point), I died! I managed to regain consciousness at the end of the last set of jumping jacks. After that experience, the 10 minutes of running was a much welcomed break. (I love running again!)
I woke up this morning, and my glutes and abs were STILL burning!
I’m not sure who came up with this workout, but they were obviously trained in torture tactics! Anyone that thinks adding 120 squats to one workout is sadistic and needs therapy.
After all of the pain and suffering from the 100 workout…I have decided to do this one every night! I’ll get used to the pain eventually…
Maybe I’ll double it…make it The 200 Workout. I guess I’m sadistic too.
Has anyone else tried this workout? If you haven’t…check it out!
The Post A Week Challenge
Well, I haven’t kept up with this challenge at all. Maybe I should have signed up for the Post A Year Challenge instead?!
Oh well, I’m going to attempt to restart it.
Yeah…we’ll see how that goes.
Smooches!

Glad to hear you’re back on the challenge. But The 100 Workout? I’ll pass.

Thanks for visiting! Good luck with the workout, it’s a tough one…but, no pain no gain, right?!

Um.. I just heard about this workout today. Insane. I don’t like running. I can’t imagine doing any more than 25 jumping jack and, compared to squats and crunches, I’m thinking that’s the easy part. I’m going to try this in the morning and see how much I can do without passing out.

Hi Kyo…thanks for visiting!
The workout is every bit as grueling as it sounds…but my daughter has found a workaround. She splits each set in half, turning it into the “50 Workout”. She says it’s much easier with less reps, and she’s planning to stick with her version. I have also modified the final set, I’ve found that 10 minutes of salsa dancing, or belly dancing is a good substitute for the running. I switch it up on alternate days, and the workout is still effective.
Good luck with the workout!

I just might try this routine out. I need to incorporate some type of push-up or something, but I really like this.

Hi “Mr. Chap”, thanks for commenting. It’s an excellent workout…and I think push-ups would definitely enhance the sadistic, “boot-camp” style torture factor. Please let me know how it works for you, as I am severely allergic to push-ups!

I really really enjoy this exercise!
What I do is I promise and push myself. For the crunches especially, I do 9 sets of 10 with a five second breather in between. With the last set of leg-lifts I went; ‘Go to five, then stop. Well, you’re at eight now, so go to twelve.’ I hit twelve, then fifteen, twenty, twenty-five, thirty all without stopping. I motivated myself that the end would be worth it.
I LOVE jumping jacks!!! I could do them all day. I already did 30 at the end instead of 20.

Looks interesting.
Don’t think I would do it. My knee would not thank me.

Burns. Definitely needs arms added though. Next time I do it I might add a set of 5 pushups between each item. And then maybe some bridges at the end.

I keep coming across this workout and I am going to try it today. I am not a runner at all, though I will jog a path in the woods fairly often, thats a bit different though, more of a me time thing. So Instead I’m going to substitute 10 minutes of cardio jump rope to the end of it, or maybe hop on my bike for 20 minutes.
anyway, i’ll get back here in like a week or so and let you know how its gone.

Hey there. I started doing this workout this morning. I think I’ll only be doing it 2-3 times a week, as I have a hardcore running and weights workout routine, and am just adding this for a little extra something. I count my calories and fitness, and am wondering if you have any idea how much this burns? Thanks, and good luck!

Hey there. I’ve seen this for a while in many places. I’m starting a diet soon, and I’m obviously going to do plenty of exercise too. I was wondering, does this help a lot?

OK. I am in pretty good shape and this workout was still brutal. It wasn’t too bad the first day but day two killed me. I agree that there isn’t any arms so instead of the last set of jumping jacks I did pushups. Thanks for posting this I’ll try to keep on it everyday. Wish me luck.

I remember seeing this a while ago at someone’s house when I was tutoring their son in math, and I’ve been meaning to look it up. I know you’re allergic to push-ups (are’t we all!), but they substituted the leg lifts for them. But I like the look of yours much better! Though I think we can all work on our upper body strength a little more… :-/ …who am I kidding! Haha!

This IS hard! It is easier if you have a friend or someone to motivate you, though.
I’ve did it twice, I did it last night and today.
I’m only 12.

I LOVE this work out! I found it on pintrest and I fell off the wagon for a little while but i have decided to jump back on again and this time I am taping to my wall and giving my self a stick reward chart like I do my kids and when I get a week straight I am going to reward myself with a hot bubble bath or something like that. I do need to do something else other than the running because I have to work out at night when my kids are asleep and I can’t leave them asleep in the house alone so I am going to try that dancing that you suggested.

How many calories do you think you burn by doing this?!
